After a nice sales run of about 1 year, we are putting the balance of our Starburst collection on sale.
All Starburst fabrics will be $3.85 per yard wholesale and sold in 10Y bolts
Avlyn is very excited to announce the start of a series of master dyed fabrics, unlike anything else you have seen before. Most batik factories and hand dyers are unable to produce this type of effect, but after long research, we have found a way to produce these beautiful fabrics on a small production scale.
Illusion is the 1st in a series of master dye fabrics we plan on introducing for the quilt and craft market. Each fabric will be a panel of about 2 yards and 5 of them will be placed on a bolt or packaged individually.
Please take a quick peek–you will not believe how magical these fabrics are until you see them in person!
Avlyn is excited to announce the very first organic batik fabrics. These fabrics will be certified to GOTS and OE100 standards, the 2 most professional and thorough ratings for textile products.
While we are excited by these certifications, we are even more excited by the collection we have designed. In addition to the organic cotton fabric, we use the very lowest impact reactive dyes that are completely AZO free.
We offer 10 color ways in 44/5″ fabric and 2 108″ backs. The reason for this is that you can now complete your quilt project using organic materials for the quilt top and the backing–and if you use an organic batting, you can make a 100% Organic Cotton quilt!
Another nice quilt design from Andrea Meegan at Uptown Blanco Textile Studio. This amazing store is located just 40 minutes from my house in historic Blanco, Texas.
These fabrics are different than our usual batik fabrics in that they use traditional Japanese tying techniques to produce their effects.
Another lovely quilt from Andrea Meegan, who runs the Uptown Blanco Quilt Store in Blanco, Texas.
Another bad photo from my iPhone, wish I would bring my real camera more often when I make visits to fabric stores. Well, they say the best camera is the one you have on you!
Some of you might remember that we were rather famous for a product called Oh So Soft many years ago. This 100% microfiber polyester pile fabric is also called minkee, minky or cuddle depending on which fabric company makes it.
Well, our Oh So Soft was so much better, softer, denser, but the cost of the fabric kept going higher and higher, so we did not want to compromise our quality and softness to compete on price. Sadly, we stopped selling Oh So Soft more than 5 years ago.
Well, we have been experimenting with new technology and have worked with a company in Australia (a customer who used to buy the original Oh So Soft) to try to develop the incredible hand feel and softness of the original, but at a more affordable price point. Almost 2 years of developments, experiments, promise, failure, hope, more failure, but we are finally pretty satisfied with the results.
Here are some photos of some of the nappies/diapers that Vivi makes out of the Oh So Soft. Really amazing designs!
Who knows, we re-introduce it here in the US market……
It is always a good day when you receive word from a prominent magazine like AP&Q that they are going to showcase your fabric in a quilt.
